The distinctive architecture of Coconut Lagoon hides inspirational tales of craft and conservation. The villas of the resort are built from remnants of ancient Kerala homes called tharavads. Some of these mansions are over 150 years old and were carefully dismantled and transplanted here in sections from houses that had fallen into ruin.

The Vembanad is one of India’s largest lakes and wetland eco systems that is home to many species of rare plant, bird and animal life. It is also a source of sustenance to the people who live on its banks.

We use the common ingredients of the Kerala kitchen to serve our guests the most authentic, home-cooked Kerala food on a banana leaf. Expect genuine fish curry with bones in it, tapioca with crushed bird’s eye chili and more.
